Kinesiology is for people who have an injury, disability or medical condition(s) and want to improve their health and fitness in a safe progressive manner. Acupuncture is an ancient practice supported by modern medicine. It consists of using thin, sterile needles to stimulate points that engage the body’s own healing mechanisms. Acupuncture is used to relieve pain, promote healing after injury or surgery, address digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, and reproductive health, support weight loss, smoking cessation and addictions treatment, enhance immunity and support overall health. Your TCM practitioner may also utilize herbal and dietary support. Acupuncture and TCM can be used as a standalone therapy or alongside other forms of care.

Monica began her journey in the healing arts as a personal trainer in 1998. Eventually this led her to pursue a career in massage, completing the Thai Massage Practitioner Program and Therapeutic Touch Training, which made her hungry for more knowledge. As a result, she sought out more training in modalities such as Trigger Point Therapy, Raindrop Therapy, and Thai Herbal Compress Massage.

After years of practicing, Monica realized that she wanted to help people on a deeper level, working with internal medicine – which made her enrol in Chinese Medicine school. She received her Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine – which totaled 3,450 hours of training over four and a half years of intensive full-time study. She is currently registered as a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Chinese Herbalist, and Acupuncturist through the CTCMA.

Monica also finds great enjoyment instructing at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences, teaching core subjects – which truly allows her to stay current with her knowledge.

For years after Monica’s Chinese medicine schooling, she studied and certified in Injection Therapy and Prolotherapy, and apprenticed under Dr. Joel Kailia for one year. Even though she is not currently offering these services due to changes in regulations, the experience has brought her a much deeper understanding of the human body.

Most recently Monica received her Diploma in Manual Osteopathic Practice. She’s been practicing these techniques in her treatments with outstanding success and results. She loves Osteopathy!

Monica has a friendly and caring personality, and is vigilant in delivering safe treatments for her patients. She takes pride in having intent listening skills, and focused treatments, which are sure to provide results. Monica is particularly passionate about providing relief and lasting results to patients who feel hopeless about their chronic pain.

Originally from Ontario, Danny moved to England to obtain his Masters in Physiotherapy from Leeds Beckett University. Danny believes in using a combination of treatment approaches to best help clients achieve their goals. From education, exercise, manual therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic modalities, and prevention strategies, Danny works with his clients to create treatment plans individually tailored to their needs. He strives to get clients moving and feeling their best, and to leave them with the tools to maintain and continue their progress after physiotherapy.

An avid traveller, Danny has spent time living in New Zealand, Australia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, and Spain before settling down in BC.

elma graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. Using a combination of treatment approaches, Telma aims to work towards her client’s goals through providing evidence-based and individualized treatment.

She has completed further training in areas such as Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Clinical Pilates, and Pelvic Health Rehabilitation. Telma has a special interest in Pelvic Floor Therapy. She has completed various Pelvic Health courses to treat men and women experiencing bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction. She strives to assist individuals optimize function of their pelvic floor and core region through a combination of exercise, manual therapy, and lifestyle education. In her spare time, Telma keeps active through a variety of sports and is always keen on trying new activities. When less energetic, she can be found mastering the state of relaxation while reading a good book.

Chelsea received her diploma from Okanagan College of Massage Therapy in 2013 and has been practicing in multiple areas in BC as well as Alberta. She has worked with many clients, treating a range of conditions/injuries such as chronic muscle tension, headaches, sports injuries, sprains/strains and more. Her therapeutic focus is primarily myofascial release, deep tissue and trigger point therapy.

Chelsea has just moved to Grand Forks with her two children, Ceili and Fin, and their dog Bruce. She has family in the area so she has spent a lot of time here growing up. She is very excited to be here and start their new journey.

Grant graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2006 with his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. He later received his certification in acupuncture as well as GTT dry needling from Dr. Gokavi.

Chloe graduated with her Bachelors in Human Kinetics from UBC Okanagan in 2020, with a major in clinical exercise physiology and a minor in psychology. Chloe is passionate about functional fitness, exercise as medicine, and creating life long athletes. She grew up as an athlete in the sports of swimming, cycling and triathlon, which later translated into coaching of those sports.
